The Porta-Duct is a portable hose that is built within a transportable carrying bag. This flexible duct is made from a PVC vinyl laminated polyester fabric. The PVC coated polyester fabric is then reinforced with a steel wire helix and then an external wear strip is added to the protrusions that are caused by the wire.  The wear strip protects the flex duct from scrapes that the hose may experience when moved in exterior spaces. Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC), also known as vinyl, is an economical and versatile polymer widely used in the building and construction industry. It is utilized in the production of pipes, cable insulation, windows, walls and wherever a durable and protective product is needed. PVC is chemical resistant, has great weathering characteristics, has a low flammability rating, and is cost effective. PVC also has good resistance to impact and mechanical stress and is resistant to UV radiation, and moisture. This makes a PVC duct a perfect all-around duct and especially for use in outdoor and industrial applications. The durability of PVC, the material makeup of this product, makes this the ideal portable AC exhaust hose.

This hose benefits from being a flexible ductwork. Flexible ducts are far easier to install than rigid duct hoses. This insulated flexible ductwork slows the heat transfer that may be in place between the interior of the hose (i.e., air conditioned air) and exterior of the duct (i.e., exterior temperature level). This insulated air duct reduces convection and uses materials and layers that have low thermal conductivity. Convection is the movement of air driven by differences in temperature between two areas. Convection works by moving heated air from a warmer area to a space colder than its surroundings. To reduce heat transfer by convection, a duct’s insulating material should contain small cavities of air pockets within. The “Tornado-Flex Large Diameter” is available in 20, 24, 28, 30, 36, 40, 42, and 48-Inch I.D. and custom sizes up to 52″ diameter. This hose can be purchased in lengths up to fifty feet in most diameter sizes. This large diameter flex duct is recommended for air ventilation, HVAC, chillers, and general air movement. The standard color for the hose is Yellow (with a black wearstrip), however it can be purchased in custom military colors like olive drab, desert tan, blue and white. This hose is listed as UL 94 V-0 flame retardant and is manufactured with materials that meet NFPA 701 standards. A flexible duct that complies with NFPA 701 is one that shall be considered a noncombustible material. “The material, in the form in which it is used, and under the conditions anticipated, will not ignite, burn, support combustion, or release flammable vapors when subjected to fire or heat.”

Since this flex duct is made from PVC, it is lightweight and easy to move. A 24-inch diameter version of this duct weighs about 1.4lbs per foot, hence a 20 foot length hose would only weigh about 28lbs. In addition, it is highly compressible, with a compression ratio of 11 to one. And the same 20 foot section noted, can be compressed into a roughly two foot section. Its lightweight and highly compressible nature allows for it to be moved and reinstalled comfortably. This hose can be purchased in a multitude of ends. Reducing and or an enlarging end cuffs, longer standard cuffs, and funnel cuffs are available upon request. The access to custom ends permits operators to install hoses to machinery and fans without the need for customizing the equipment’s end connections. The “Wind Handler WS Large Diameter” flexible ducting is a single-ply neoprene coated polyester fabric hose reinforced with a spring steel wire helix & external wearstrip. The hose wall is a polyester fabric that has been coated in neoprene and this hose exhibits strong affiliation with its rubber makeup. Neoprene rubber is an industrial rubber developed during WWII for use in military and automotive applications. It is highly weather, ozone, moisture and chemical resistant which makes any ensuing product made from neoprene be ideal for outdoor use. This large diameter hose is designed for use in outdoor or indoor applications. Due to its rubber wall, the duct hose has excellent flexibility and flex-rebound characteristics. The “Wind Handler WS Large Diameter” ducting is available in the following large diameter hose sizes: Sizes I.D. (inches): 20, 24, 28, 30, 36, 40, 42, 48, & 52 Inch inside diameter. Why use a large diameter duct for air ventilation?
A duct’s diameter is responsible for the duct’s CFM (cubic feet per minute) output. Changing the internal diameter (ID) of your HVAC air ducts will change the pressure throughout the system and will change the overall air volume that is being transferred from the source to the end. A large diameter portable air conditioner hose will simply offer more room for the movement of a large volume of air.

This flexible duct hose is only designed to move air and should not be used for other applications. It is an excellent air duct for permanent and mobile air conditioning units. Since this flexible duct has a five to one compressibility rating, longer lengths can be compressed down by a ratio of 5 and moved for storage. The large diameter duct also has an exterior wearstrip which protects the hose from wear and tear when dragged and moved in on field installations. The “Tornado-Flex Insulated AD Large Diameter” has a standard yellow color (with black wearstrip) however custom colors such as Blue, White or military hues like olive drab and desert tan are also available.

This series of insulated flexible ductwork has an insulation wrap with an R-value of four. This is sufficient to slow down that heat flow from the interior of the hose to the outside. The insulation wrap is effective at reducing the rate of convection and will slow down the heat transfer that is present in air conditioning installations. This insulated flexible air duct has a temperature range of -20 Fahrenheit to +180 Fahrenheit. To make installation and removal of the duct hose easier, a variety of cuffed ends are available. Reduced end sizes, enlarged cuffs, funnel cuffs, longer cuffs and belted cuffed ends are some of the possibilities and are available upon request. This is the ultimate insulated air ventilation duct. The two single plies of neoprene coated fabric offer excellent weathering and ozone characteristics. Weather resistance is the ability of a material to prevent deterioration, damage to material or any sort of deterioration due to prolonged exposure to harsh environmental and weather conditions. This thickness of the fiberglass insulation wrap is ideal for a transportable hose that needs to be flexible and compressible. R-Value measures how well insulation can resist heat flow. R-Value of ductwork refers to the insulation around a duct and how well it prevents heat from entering or escaping ducts. Higher R-value insulation is thicker and reduces the flexibility of a duct. The “Wind Handler Insulated TU Large Diameter” has a compression ratio of 5 to 1 and weighs about 2 lbs per foot in a 20” diameter size. Therefore, a 25 foot length of this flexible duct would compress down to a five foot coil and would only weigh about 50 lbs. This makes for a hose that is easy to manage if it requires to be moved.

The “Air Ventilator Large Diameter” hose is an air ventilation duct designed to move large volumes of air. This flexible duct is available in unusually large duct sizes which have traditionally not been available off the shelf. This large flexible ducting is stocked and sold in 30-inch, 36-inch, 42-inch and 48-inch diameters and all are available in 25-foot-long coils. All of the large air duct ends have a belted cuffed end for easy installation. This reduces the need for clamps and makes installing ventilation pipes a quick and painless task. This large bore flexible hose is made from PVC vinyl coated polyester fabric hose that is reinforced with a spring steel wire helix. Due to its PVC construction, the flex duct is resistant to weathering, chemical rotting, corrosion, and abrasion. PVC ducting is notably resilient and displays excellent resistance to both physical and chemical exposures. This flexible duct wall’s high tensile strength prevents it from being easily fissured or warped under normal pressures. This duct has been tested and meets the NFPA 701-2023 standard methods of fire tests for flame propagation of textiles and films. Under NFPA 701, the PVC coated duct fabric is tested by burning a small sample and measuring the flame, the char length and flame residue. If a ducting material meets the NFPA 701 standards in these three areas, the flexible duct is considered flame retardant and receives a NFPA 701 certification. In institutional or military applications, air conditioner hose or ventilation duct hose are generally required to carry flame retardant qualities. In these cases the inventoried “Air Ventilator Large Diameter Yellow ” will offer a quick and easy access to a portable air conditioner hose or a large air vent duct for industry.

Although this is large diameter flex ducting, it is made with an external wearstrip. The extra layer of protection is an added PVC coated fabric that is an auxiliary layer applied to the areas the metal helix is constructed around. Though perhaps too large to be dragged and moved continuously, these large ducts will be moved during installation and perhaps moved again when the temporary ventilation installation is closed. The additional layer of protection will add life to the hose and keep it from accidental damage.

The “Neoprene Flex – 2 ply Large Diameter” is a double-ply neoprene coated black polyester fabric hose reinforced with a spring steel wire helix. This is a large diameter hose duct is a heavy-duty rubber coated fabric hose and is designed for use in material handling installations. This large flexible ducting is available in inside diameter sizes of 20, 22, 24, 28, 30, 36, 42, 48 inch diameter and other custom sizes up to 60 Inch. The customized size variations in this hose allow users to match their existing machinery with a hose made to order for the equipment which removes the need for customized connectors or other fixtures. This hose can also be produced in customer Metric sizes up to 1500 mm in diameter. Need an ultra durable large air duct in field applications that may see constant abrasion? The “Neoprene Flex – 2 ply Large Diameter” is an ideal replacement for portable ventilation ducts or portable ac hoses that are installed outdoors and exposed to rough elements like sand, gravel, rains, snow and ice. Since air ventilation hoses are generally designed to handle air from the inside and out and are not made with an intent to experience abrasion from external elements, they generally have lower life expectancy in rough surroundings. Since this hose is made from a neoprene coated polyester fabric, the 2-ply rubber coated wall, it offers excellent abrasion resistance. Neoprene rubber was originally designed as a military grade part to withstand general weathering, greases, oils and light exposure to chemicals. Its presence adds tensile strength to this large flexible duct and extenuates the flexibility of the duct with added flex strength so that the duct will resist cracking over the long haul. Additional rubber coatings are available for better abrasion and/or chemical resistance, however added coating will impair the flexibility of this large flexible ducting.

This large flex duct has a temperature range of – 40 Fahrenheit to + 250 Fahrenheit. This is a wider temperature range than hoses made from PVC or vinyl. The added range allows this hose to be used effectively in environments where and around machinery and equipment that exude elevated temperatures. This hose has a 5 to 1 compression ratio in larger diameters and this allows a 25 foot length to be compressed down to a 5-foot section. This is useful when temporary and complicated installations require a large bore to flex and compress in order to fit into a limited space or structural zone. The Aluminum Flex 280 – Compressible is an aluminum duct that extends from 0.8 meters to 3 meters, a ratio of 1 to 3.7! This metal duct has a single-ply, helically corrugated structure—making it a very durable, as well as lightweight product. The Aluminum Flex 280 – Compressible comes prefabricated in a variety of different inside diameter (I.D.) sizes: 3″, 4″, 5″, 6″, 8″, 10″, and 12″. The walls of this flexible metal tubing are 0.1 to 0.11 mm. thick, and it has an I.D. tolerance of 0 to 0.1 inch. Its end finishes are plain cut, and it comes in a classic, metallic-silver colorway. This flexible metal hose is also semi-rigid, which means that, once you bend it into a certain position, it will stay that way without any added support. Of course, you can bend it again to reform the duct into a different position. In sum, it’s likely that you will not need to use any accessories such as elbows to fit your Aluminum Flex 280 – Compressible into looping or bent positions.

This flexible metal duct is designed with air and fume ventilation applications in mind, thus making it well-suited for a variety of residential, commercial, and industrial applications—especially those that intend to transport high-temperature matter. Wood stoves, for instance, need to properly ventilate hot smoke from the wood they burn. This hose is an insulated air duct with plies of aluminum foil that are separated with fiberglass duct wrap insulation. The three layers are (1) the jacket is made with silver fiberglass reinforced fabric while (2) the insulation is fiberglass wrap and (3) the liner is spiral aluminum foil duct. This insulated flexible ductwork is made for use as an air conditioner duct because it is insulated. Why use insulated ductwork as air conditioning duct? Insulation works because it prevents heat transference into and out of a duct. As a rule, heated air flows from higher temperature areas into areas occupied by cooler temperature air. This movement continues until the temperature of the two spaces is the same. When moving conditioned air through a duct, one way to prevent this is by using insulation wraps around the ducts so that it keeps heat from moving through the duct’s walls. Having an R-value of 6 is a great resource when ducting is used as ducts for air conditioning and the “HVAC Insulated-Flex R-6” has this valued feature. When this air conditioner duct is moving heated air or cooled air through its body, it will reduce heat loss due to its R-value of 6. The thicker and the denser the insulation wrap, the less likely that the temperatures within the flexible ducting can be affected negatively. In general, insulated flexible ductwork operates by adding thick duct wrap that slows down that heat flow from the exterior of the duct into the interior of the hose. Increasing the R-value of the insulation will slow down the heat transfer, since higher R-value ducts have thicker and denser wrapping.

Since the “HVAC Insulated-Flex R-6” is a flexible duct (as opposed to rigid) these are the ideal products for use in tight spaces with many turns and twists. Flexible ducting is always easier and cheaper once installed than rigid ducting. Flex ducts reduce the need for elbows and odd-shaped connectors.
